1. Crocodile tears
Arti:
air mata palsu (ternyata istilah air mata buaya dalam bahasa Indonesia berasal dari idiom ini)
Contoh:
Budi pretended to be sad but we all knew his tears were crocodile tears.

2. Bee’s knees
Arti:
idiom ini digunakan apabila kamu ingin mengatakan bahwa seseorang terlalu memandang tinggi dirinya (narsis)
Contoh:
Budi thinks that he’s the bee’s knees

3. Dog’s life
Arti:
kehidupan kerja yang sulit dan tidak memuaskan
Contoh:
It’s a dog’s life working in the marketing department.

4. Proud as a peacock
Arti:
sangat bangga
Contoh:
When he won the first prize, Budi was as proud as a peacock.

5. Fish out of water
Arti:
merasa tidak nyaman karena berada dalam lingkungan yang asing
Contoh:
As an Indonesian people, I felt like a fish out of water in USA.

6. Donkey work
Arti:
pekerjaan yang membosankan
Contoh:
I do the donkey work - my boss gets the credit!

7. Have goose pimples
Arti:
merasa sangat ketakutan
Contoh:
I was so scared that I had goose pimples all through this Kesurupan movie.

8. Packed like sardines
Arti:
berdesak-desakkan karena tidak ada cukup tempat
Contoh:
The bus was very crowded - we were packed like sardines!

9. A snake in the grass
Arti:
musuh dalam selimut
Contoh:
I thought I could trust my new colleague but she turned out to be a snake in the grass.

10. Pigs might fly
Arti:
idiom ini digunakan untuk mengungkapkan rasa takjub, heran, tidak percaya
Contoh:
My grandmother is buying a computer? … Yeah, and pigs might fly!
